Our team is headquartered at Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, Maryland and is the lone FIRST Robotics team in Harford County, a mostly suburban region of Maryland north of Baltimore along the Route I95 corridor. Aberdeen High School is neighbored by Aberdeen Proving Ground (the origin of the world’s first digital computer!). Aberdeen High School is the home of the Science and Mathematics Academy, which is a magnet program that attracts students from throughout Harford County who demonstrate a strong interest and ability in science and mathematics.
Aberdeen, Maryland was named as the All-America City in 1997 by the National Civic League; the award is given to ten cities each year on the basis of its civic excellence and interdependence. This civic pride and cooperation is evident in the support of businesses and individuals throughout our community.
This is our team's third year. Our team is recruiting new members and mentors to join our veterans in this exciting project. In 2008 Team 1980 participated in the Trenton NJ and Chesapeake Regional Competitions, as well as the Duel on the Delaware.
